Rally days are on the first Sunday of every month, weather permitting.

At rally days, you must be a financial member of the Gordonvale Pony Club to participate in any riding. If you are under 18 you must be accompanied by a parent /guardian. On rally days, instructors will provide lessons for all riders present, catering for all levels of ability from complete beginner to advanced competition.All rally days start promptly at 9:30am and you must have paid your $3 fee and be saddled up, ready for a gear check by this time. Riding will continue till 12 noon followed by a 45-minute lunch break. Riding may continue till 2pm if instructors are available, on some rally days there will be special interest groups in the afternoon

Please come a bit early to help set up the jumps and sporting equipment.

Make sure to apply plenty of sunscreen and drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.

Safety approved helmets and boots must be worn at all times when riding on club grounds. All helmets must be tested to ASNZ 33838, EN1384, ASTM F1163 or better, with effective chinstrap. Helmets should be replaced after any impact.

Approved boots for under 17 years are brown elastic sided low-heeled jodhpur boots with smooth soles, designed as a riding boot. If the sole has a textured thread, it must not be more than 3mm in depth, with a smooth border around the outside of the thread pattern.

On rally days club Polo shirts must be worn. We have Purple Club Polo shirts available for $25.You may also wear our white Club t-shirt for $10. They are available on the rally days from the clubhouse. Purple ties are also available for the gymkhanas for $20.

Our official dress uniform for official events is Black Jodhpurs, a white collared long sleeve shirt with Purple Tie. Purple Club saddlecloths are to be used on competition days also. Lanskys Saddlery in Cairns has purple saddle cloths with a white G sewn on available for about $35.
